The Host
by Stephenie Meyer
The beginning started off a bit slow almost losing my interest but once the story line started picking up I couldn't put it down. Looking through the eyes of an alien referred to as a soul,Wanda, while she battles Melanie, a human host who still inhabits her own body and refuses to be silenced by the opposing force also inhabiting her body. I loved how it reflects present social status and cliques and how Wanda refused to be like everyone else. How she created her own ideas and stood up against her superiors, and all for the love a man she didn't even truly know yet.
The adventures the two girls share on their search is heartwarming and hilarious between their banters back and forth which create a sort of, strained at first but nonetheless, friendship.
The relationships were deliouciously crafted going from both Meelanie and Wanda loving Jared to Wanda being conflicted by interest in Jared and Ian, the brother Kyle, a man who has lost the love of his life to the souls and vows revenge.
Meyers outdid herself in The Host, far better than the Twilight series.
