Came to know about this book in one of my group. Two friends planned the BR and I hopped on the wagon.
It is a dark book about the tradition of Acquisition in rich southern families where the winners gets to rule over other families. So a lot of power and other things are at stake. A member from different families take part in this once in a decade and what follows is trials full of gore and debauchery.
One of the issue that I had this book was insta-lust that the couple felt for each other. I can understand the attraction at the boy's part but the girl is going through so much without even being told the why of whole tradition.
Book sort of ended on a cliffhanger, of course I had to read the next book.
