I've seen so many people online talking about this book so I was excited to pick this up to finish up a few prompts for some challenges. I mostly listened to the audiobook and the narrator was FANTASTIC. This is the story of a brujo that is trying to prove himself to his community as he is transgender and they are very traditional and refuse to allow him to finish his ceremony to be a brujo. Then, things start going wrong and he has to save the day! So much fun! I loved the rep for gender, sexuality, and culture. The ending made me cry because it was so perfect and beautiful. Loved it!

This book counts for Popsugar 2022 for a book about gender identity and for r/Fantasy Bingo for an award finalist.
