The Bear by Andrew Krivak
5.0
This is a gorgeous and meditative bit of post-apocalyptica, perfect for fans of Emily St. John Mandel and Cormac McCarthy.
This novel follows a girl and her father and a journey they undertake in a post-apocalyptic landscape in which they are the only people. Along the way, Krivak examines themes of love and loss and growth and acceptance and throws in a bit of fable for good measure.
This novel is beautifully written and lushly and evocatively detailed, and as a fan of both of the aforementioned authors, I recommend the heck out of it!
