Aristotle and Dante Dive Into the Waters of the World by Benjamin Alire Sáenz
2.0
this book is the literal definition of purgatory /neg /jesucristo…
i cant stress this enough: this book was not necessary!! the first book was wonderful and i enjoyed it sm but i feel like the presence of this book nine years after its release waters that down. not to mention the length. it’s nearly 500 pages long compared to the first’s 350. i cannot imagine what so desperately needed to be said that warrants this.
its also just… whatever. the writing is just okay, ofc it had its moments but for the most part the quotes and moments that you can tell are meant to hit you hard land soft and disappointing.
important thing to mention: i cannot standdd the dialogue. that’s it i just needed to get that out. never in my life have i read a book where every one (except for maybe one person) sounds so,, unorganic. not a word but it’s the only way i can describe it.
this book has to pay for the month it took from me so it’s going towards my reading challenge idc. booooo
