This book has many characters and conversations to keep up with, but I'm glad I finally got to it. The amount of sex and violence shows it's age though. Even so, I get why these Bernie Gunther crime series are so popular and will sure read more of them, hoping that there will be less namedropping in those. Also, I'm sorry about the dogs.
