Drawdown: The Most Comprehensive Plan Ever Proposed to Reverse Global Warming by Paul Hawken

this book is meant to be a hopeful book about all we’re already doing to stop climate change and outlines what we have left to do. its excellent, explains things very well, and outlines realistic scenarios. it’s optimistic, but it just doesn’t make me feel optimistic. there’s 200 pages of climate solutions in here that are reasonable, that save lives, that save money; it’s great!

but i want a book that explains why we aren’t using any of those solutions at the scales we should be. (this book never claims to do that so i’m not saying that it falls short on that account.) i just read this wanting to feel more hopeful and i 100% learned a lot, but i just don’t feel more hopeful about things.

eat less meat everyone! waste less food! and support the education and equality of women and girls!! we’re not killing earth, we’re only helping her to kill us. i wish everyone read this book and picked one thing to do out of it
