Still Woman Enough: A Memoir by Loretta Lynn, Patsi Bale Cox

5.0

“But I started understanding something then. Women who have some money of their own got choices. And having choices is mighty important”.
This memoir is so intensely honest and grace. Lynn writes as though she’s talking to a dear and intimate friend- just the way a “coal miner’s daughter” would actually speak. She’s as honest about her own shortcomings as she is of others’ and it makes you love her all the more. I would definitely recommend watching Coal Miner’s Daughter before diving in, because it makes the narrative that much more rich and personal.
