I love Jacqueline Woodson's writing. She creates a story that you can visualize through her words. Unfortunately, the image left from this story is still haunting me a couple days later! I say unfortunately because it is a story of lost opportunity and it is sad. However, it is also beautifully written and could certainly be used with a group of school age children to get them thinking about how they treat others. Love it.
