The Uncensored Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, Akshay Gawde

beautiful and haunting from the first page to the last. perfect not only in subject matter but in delivery, both subtle and overt in its themes of beauty, influence, the meaning of art, and the corruption of one’s soul. it perfectly balances the fictitious elements of the painting while remaining grounded and cynical in its “trains of thought” dialogue. wilde’s storytelling is much more than a disconnected narration, his voice is immersive and immortalized on the pages. this is one of my favorite books of all time.
