A Clash of Kings
by George R.R. Martin
Definitely enjoyed this one more than the first and once I got in to it I couldn't put it down. However it did take me a couple of hundred pages to get into it, maybe because of its size and the prospect of getting through all 900 pages of it. But once I got past the halfway mark I sped through it and loved every point of view when before I favoured some chapter over others. Tyrions sense of humour has not let me down to yey.
At the end I did find some of the battle at Kingslanding hard to follow which may have been my lack of knowledge when it comes to ships. And I was slightly disappointed when it came to Denys chapters which I really enjoyed in the first book but I found that her and her dragons did little in this book.
Overall it was an epic read and I loved the fact that the different gods played a bigger part in the story and the backstories that we never get to see in the tv show. I really enjoyed the introduction to wargs and Giants and everything that lies beyond the wall and I can't wait to continue on with the series:)
