This book had a really cool idea that I thought was quite unique. Essentially flipping gender roles entirely. And I think it executed that goal very well. Really cool world building, and I didn’t mind changing POVs often since it just deepened my immersion into the world and showed more perspectives and reactions to the incoming change of status quo. However, the was a continuous build up— they literally started each chapter by saying “X years until it happens…” getting closer and closer to this big event. However, it wasn’t really explained what even happened. It was glossed over generally in about 1 page. Overall still a cool book, and similar to the Handmaids tale, I really liked the ending of analyzing the events of the book as a text to be examined. Overall it was still a good book!!!
