I am a tried and true MN girlie so I could not wait to finally read an Abby Jimenez story. This romance reminded me so much of home (both growing up in a small town and living in Minneapolis)!! Daniel was so unbelievably sweet and despite being the younger partner, he was so mature and likable in this story (I meannn he cares for his loved ones and baby animals đś đ) .
Jimenez also took a lot of care and consideration writing on multiple of the heavy topics within this book and she certainly has earned my respect for taking the time and consideration in doing so! đ

Now to why this was a 3.9 âď¸ rating for me instead of 5:
- I was hoping to love the side characters more. I liked Bri and didnât mind Danielâs friends, but Alexisâ other âfriendsâ were horrible!!! At that point in her life and given the need to be assertive and transparent in her profession, I would have expected she would have mirrored this behavior when choosing and or keeping âfriendshipsâ.
- Building off of that last point, some of her decisions were incredibly irritating. Ultimately, I am content with her growth within the story and continuing to find her voice and confidence, but I was actively vocalizing my annoyance during my read.
I have heard very positive things about the next two books in the series so I will be giving them a go!
