I truly can never survive Erin Morgenstern's work without bawling my eyes out by the final stretch. I've seen a lot of love for this book, which I appreciate because that is where I lean on the spectrum, but I've also seen a lot of disdain and adamant hatred, which I found shocking. There are many stories to feel so strongly against and this one just doesn't seem like the one to boycott.
This is the story of stories, and there's a lot of care and love and beautiful prose and pain and fear and grief. I think it is easy to dislike something that isn't meant to be easily understood.
"And no story ever truly ends as long as it is told."
