I liked the format: the sobering illustration of a person with a sale price, followed by the page with colorful depictions of their dreams. My only disappointment was that I had seen descriptions of this as based on primary documents, when it is based on a bill of sale. I realize that the slaves generally were not allowed to read or write, so this would be difficult to obtain. Collections such as those in the Library of Congress American Memory can be very effective in communicating slavery's inhumanity.
