This book was fantastic! It’s magical realism at its best, with the elements of fantasy being so entrenched in this world that is essentially our world.
The research that went into this book is beyond anything I’ve ever experienced in fantasy. The elements of translation and etymology are so well done and integrated into the story, while also bringing in commentary on colonialism. So so so impressed by this read.
