I adored reading "The Rachel Incident" by Caroline O'Donoghue.
This story is set in Cork city which is my home and so the story and setting felt very familiar to me from the beginning. I imagine it would be reflective of any university city in Ireland and the life of college students in their early twenties. I was completely immersed in the characters and the setting and could vividly picture where each scene was taking place.  I loved all of the main characters in this story and the various relationships that are present. Each relationship again felt so true and real. The writing style of this book kept me checking to see if it was a memoir, which of course it is not. The experiences of the main character felt incredibly real and like the author was telling their own story. I completely understand the hype around this book and unlike some other over-hyped books, I feel this hype is completely warranted.
