UGH! I hate that I'm giving this book 2 stars because I WANTED TO LOVE IT WITH ALL MY HEART and just ugh. I gave up reading the book and switched to audio. If it wasn't for RP1 being an all time favourite, I wouldn't have carried on past 200 pages.

It was slow at the beginning. Then it picked up and I was like 'HERE WE GO!' And then we spend so long in one location that I just stop caring. The ending? Meh. It got all philosophical and thoughtful and I do like that usually, just not in this book. All I wanted was geeky adventures.

I read another review somewhere that said the stakes just didn't seem high enough and I feel the same way. The stakes in this one are arguably higher but you just don't care about them.

My plan is to forget this book doesn't exist and just enjoy RP1 for what it was and what it should have been - a standalone.
