Listen, don't let the bright yellow van in the cover mislead you. This is not a happy book. I had seen a video review that said it was half cancer journey, half road trip, and I really disagree with that assessment. This book is 100% cancer journey, but some of it happens in a car.

This is a beautifully written book and Jaouad pours her heart and soul into the pages, being extremely vulnerable about how she felt before her diagnosis, during treatment and after she stops doing chemo, and the personal struggles each stage brings. If you're not in a good place emotionally, do not pick up this book. It's in the top three saddest books I've ever read. But if you're looking for insight into what a person with a debilitating disease goes through, this book will be your best friend.
