Dark Harvest by Norman Partridge
3.0

This was a quick and fun read. Norman Partridge has a very distinct and quirky narrative voice that carries throughout the entire story. While it gave me nostalgia for old horror stories from the late 90's and early 2000's, there was something about the novel that didn't allow me to feel a creepy or bone-chilling atmosphere. I understood the characters' motivations and the stakes of the game they were playing, but not once did I ever feel spooked while reading. That being said, I would still recommend this for anyone looking for a fun Halloween read.
