Very very cleverly written... It's written as though it's all a story, a tale, when in all reality it's life. Girls get judged by their looks on a daily basis and are told they don't look pretty. When we really are all pretty, we all have the strength to look the way we want to look and people shouldn't judge or be judged for that. Honestly makes you think about society without even realising because "it's just a book" but it feels like more than that for me, it's a window into society and the norms of the modern day...
