I have mixed feelings about this book. There was something off about it. It has a lot of what I expect from a Sanderson book. The development of the world was good and the western/turn of the century vibe was spot on, including the tropes. And maybe that is how it feels off. It seems like the point was to right a piece that hit these themes more than to write a book as good as some of his others. There was less build up to the twists than I normally see from Sanderson, and it wrapped up a little more straight forwardly than I've come to appreciate from him.
All that to say the book was still good, and I am excited to see more of these characters. Not Sandersons best, but honestly not as bad as some make it out to be.
