I was very pleasantly surprised. Given the tropes of this book, I was expecting a HUGE angst fest. And I’m not a huge fan of angst, but sometimes I like it, and this is a new author to me - so in the spirit of trying something new…..
And I devoured it in one sitting. It wasn’t a sad angst, or miscommunication, or gratuitous trauma or hurt. But it was there. It provides motivation for the characters actions. But there is was little conflict between the 3 main characters themselves. It was all external. They were all loving and happy. The friends to lovers of Lennox and Samuel. There was mutual pining at the start. And when circumstance brought Rhys in to their lives, he just fit?
And Lennox being a deaf character - I think this might be the first book I’ve read where an MC is learning to deal with a disability. I was curious to see how this was handled and I was not disappointed.
Anyway - I would recommend this read for a quick emotional read with found family, friends to lovers.
I was provided an advanced copy of this book in order to provide my honest review.
