I'm not sure if I liked this book or if it's stockholm syndrome at this point hahaha

The characters are so well developed, their dynamics are incredible.
Little moments in the plot weaved together and slowly interrupting into the plot.

I went on a journey with these characters but somehow in 588 pages, with so much detail - historical context/everyday life/ other moments that dragged out moments that slowed the pacing down to a crawl- it still felt incomplete
I would have wanted more info on what happened to the mother, what became of Gaspar? </Spoiler>
The worst thing was that after spending decades with these characters the ending felt so abrupt.

This is a story about exploitation, complex and terrifying family bonds, abuse, trauma, grief.
