This story is heart-breaking and intense. The artwork is beautiful and dark and adds to the narrative.

Maika is finally starting to question the events in her life and the past she both can remember and cannot remember, which gives the story a more personal touch to it. Maika went the entire series only caring about one thing and being nasty to others when they got in her way or didn't

I still adore Kippa, and I love her fighting spirit and her bravery. I'm a little confused on the lore with Zinn, though. It just kind of came out of nowhere it seemed.

This series, and this book specifically, is heavy on the politics aspect of the story. There's a lot of double-crossing and treachery and secret motives involved in every decision made, but they don't really seem that connected. I'm hoping things get more cleared up in the next book.
