Claire's little sister Tina died and her mother blamed her for her death. Claire admits her frustration with her little sister but was truly distraught by her death. Years later Claire becomes a homicide detective to clear her name and close Tina's case.

Honestly, this book was just a fun ride. The twists kept me intrigued and wanting to learn more. Were the twists masterfully written? No. But they were interesting and sometimes a review is purely based on vibes. And the vibe of this book is a wild ride where you just aren't sure where you'll end up.

I enjoyed that this book is a good standalone with a series possible. The book wraps up nicely while still leaving possibilities open but not so wide open that the next book is necessary to get to the bottom of it.

I wanted a little more depth into why Claire's mom was willing to believe anything Tina said. I also wanted depth about Claire's mom's relationship with her dad as the book wrapped up. I feel like we missed out on the recovery and enlightenment in the end for Claire's mom.

Overall a fun murder mystery that could have used some polishing but if an author can keep the reader curious, that's what truly matters
