It took me forever to figure out that it's Kafka-esque because it's a story about yeong hye morphing herself into a "tree".

A lot of delicate themes are explored here - the patriarchal system of Korea and how wives are seen as sexual vessels for men and how the eldest sister takes on a parental role for her younger siblings.

Defo check the warnings  before reading this book because the weird sex scene (+dubcon) happened and i was very creeped out by it.
