I finished this book in about 2 days. I’m so glad I read this one. I LOVED this book! It was so well written. Ben was my favorite character to follow. I loved how far these people have come to overcome everything in their life previously living in Vietnam in the time of the war and communism. It was enjoyable to follow their journey in America and finding their place in the world. The only part I didn’t like about this book and why I gave the book minus .5 was because some of the language wasn’t translated and so I couldn’t follow every aspect of the book. Other than that, if you are newer to historical fiction, READ THIS BOOK! I’m so excited to read more of this genre.
