A little too sentimental and Hallmark Channel-esque for my taste. All of the lead female characters sacrifice something of themselves in order to play a traditional role in society; a mother dies for her child, a woman commits to wait three years for her video gaming lover to return, a sister abandons her own interests and pursuits for her family, and a wife stays beside her husband even as he forgets who she is. This felt like a ploy to romanticize wholesome family values for women and to softly chastise them for ever straying far away from them. Not my cup of tea, sis.
