Not Our Kind by Kitty Zeldis

A good perspective of life in America after WWII. The relationship between Patricia and Eleanor is an interesting one. Each tries to understand the other and accept each other where they are to a certain extent. I found Patricia to be the one that was more developed as a character and that I felt was truer to her personality. Eleanor left me confused at times. Some of the things she did were out of character. At times she came across as extremely naive while other times she was brazen, for lack of a better word.

I went in expecting a little deeper story. I felt as if the plot only scratched the surface. It was also a predictable story. I didn’t gasp at any of the events. The ending seemed a little disappointing. It was too easy. These were the things that kept it an average rating for me.
