Wind and Truth by Brandon Sanderson

3.0

I loved this series from the beginning, the themes touched on are heartfelt and poignant. The action and the losses hit hard and fast.

Stormlight Archive opened the world and introduced these amazing cultures and characters. Words of Radiance brought struggle and perseverance. Oathbringer was slower but the slow burn paid off in the end. I was so excited with the traction gained in Rhythm of War that Wind and Truth was one of my most anticipated reads of the year!

But in Wind and Truth I found that suddenly everyone was self aware. The modern language and forms of therapy was jarring repetitive. It almost felt like in gaining a team of people to work with him, Brandon Sanderson lost the connection to the characters and in turn me. Many of the characters reverted and the conflicts they had to go through were inconsequential. I’m glad I finished this round of the Stormlight Archives but I’m pretty disappointed.
