Speaker for the Dead by Orson Scott Card

This book started slowly. I wanted to know why the scientist was killed, but it seemed to take a long time for everyone to figure out that mystery. I remember feeling like the characters were all too riddled with guilt. Of course, I also know that both Ender's Game and this sequel won both the Nebula Award and Hugo Award in 1985 and 1986, which is really impressive. I need to revisit this series and dedicate a good chunk of time to exploring Ender's world.
