King of Campus by Jennifer Sucevic

4.0

Fun!

Young adult and fun! Roan King is dubbed the King of Campus in the University, as he's a hero in football and gloriously gorgeous. He walks by and there are loads of girls falling at his feet, men calling out to him, and he even has a website dedicated to sightings of him around campus and his many exploits with girls. Ivy is just arriving from Paris, after 15 months studying dance, just starting her junior year majoring in dance and finance. As is typical, he thinks she will be an immediate conquest and she's totally repulsed by his reputation and attitude. Since they are neighbors and her best friend Lexie is Roan's best friend's girlfriend, they get in contact a lot. His approaches and her rejections are fun, and his shock at being rejected moves into anger, then into purposefulness, and the fun begins. Ivy can't help being attracted but she's repulsed by his media popularity. As time goes on, both start seeing each other for the person underneath the façade and a relationship slowly develops, first into friendship, then lust, then.... It was a totally enjoyable book well written IMO, with some angst in their lives to give more meat to the book. I enjoyed it very much!
