Phenomenal. One of my favorite novels. East of Eden follows how the lives of two families (Hamiltons and Trasks) intersect in Salinas Valley, CA. It deals beautifully with the tension of familial sins that are passed down from generation to generation while maintaining a positive view of humanity's ability to empathize and love one another through life's complexities.
