I think this book was well written and it held my attention the whole way through. But there was, in my opinion just way too much abject cruelty and misery and not really enough plot "payoff" for it. The ending "reveal" was pretty obvious from the beginning, I'm not sure if it was meant to be or not, so the ending felt a little anticlimactic for me.
