The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan
4.0
I loved the Lightning Thief, and it’s not that I didn’t like this one, but without the shiny distraction of novelty I was more aware of the childish language of the book. But well I kind of knew what I was getting into, and when should I had read this series, so it didn’t besmirch the reading; it was just a thought. This book follows the same formula than the previous one, travel from here to here; get the magic object, save the day. Could sound dull but the adventures in during the journey made the book entertaining for me; the pace was perfect and mad the book a light reading and not boring at all. I really liked (again) that I feel that I have learned with this book about Greek mythology. The adaptation of deities and classic legends to modern times it’s marvelous, and I also find really positive how the author highlights with his characters that knowledge can be the strongest weapon and give you the high ground. The plot starts to thicken so I will be looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
