I thoroughly enjoyed reading this short story, as it explored some philosophical theories about the world of ideas and the world of feelings and how important it is to utilise both logic and feelings in order to reach the truth. However, Poe does not shy away from aknowledging the fact that we should always draw a line. When somebody who is very intelligent utilises all aspects of logical thinking and human emotion to solve such big mysteries or even everyday enigmas, it is important to understand that ethics should also be taken into account. The whole thought process and the ways in which this person works, lose all their actual value, once they are used for selfish and utilitarian purposes. Overall, a pretty nice short story that acts as a reminder to check all of the parameters in a situation.
