thejube 's review for:
Blue Lily, Lily Blue
by Maggie Stiefvater
This is definitely the character-driven book of the series. Very little plot development, but that which did develop was indispensable. Obviously bummed by the lack of Ronan POV, but ecstatic on the Adam surplus. This was the book that removed all my reservations for Blue, but at the same time I do sympathize more with her now for personal reasons. Also, strangely, even though Gansey was the most in-the-back-drop of the main four in this book, he went through the most character development due to awesomeness (mostly thanks to Gwenllian). A+ on antagonists. As always, Maggie's beautiful prose, themes, symbolism, etc., is what defines this series. No one else could execute this. In her honor, I made a TRC Spotify playlist which includes 99% of the songs she has posted on Twitter/tumblr. It's pretty whack, but makes for a great reading experience.
Update 10/23/14: Finiiiished. I've been having a bad week, so I feel like this book didn't everything it could for me. I will reread it next week. Then I will reread it when I feel better. Better reviews will be produced.
Cover Release!
Yay Blue! Beautiful cover! I need this NOW!
