The Vixen's Lead by Tate James

4.0

Spice: 2.5/5
Plot: 4/5

Alright alright alright! This is the first book in the Kit Davenport series and true to Tate’s style, she’s setting us up for one helluva reverse harem lol. *buckles seat belt and takes a deep breathe*

So in this one we meet Christina aka Kit and just like with MK and Hades (and what I’m now assuming are most of Tates leading women) she’s a badass. I think that’s probably the biggest thing that I love about Tate’s books; her FMC’s aren’t these simpering, useless little girls who need to be saved. They own their shit and have no issue grabbing “life” by the balls and beating the shit outta of someone if they need to. Kit is no different.

This is all shaping up to be the… largest? Biggest? Most elaborate? Most crowded? I dunno what the right word is yet, but this harem has 5 dudes as of right now, so do with that what you will lmao. This will be most crowded why choose I’ve read yet and I’m not gunna lie, the anticipation of finding out how the fuck this is gunna work is a beautiful thing lol. We’ve got the twins, Alex and Caleb - one is broody and grumpy AF, the other is the ray of sunshine. We’ve got Cole, the angry, tatted up MMA fighter, (I wanna say retired military but I can’t remember for sure lol) and I love him cuz we all know I have a type. Then we’ve got Wesley, the computer nerd and brains behind the operation and he’s just the sweetest thing and I want to wrap him up and never let him go lol. And last but not least we have River, the somewhat mysterious, older, British cousin of the twins. So yea, there’s a lot of men involved here and honestly, I kind of love all of them for different reasons. Tate has given each of them such a unique and distinct personality that just like Kit, I could never actually choose just one lol.

The basic premise of the book; they’re in high school at first, (but Kit is older than most students.) We’ve got supernatural aspects starting to build and it’s looking like it’s gunna be a shifter romance. I dunno if y’all know this about me, I fucking LOVE shifter romances. I go feral for that shit lol. There was also a nice little twist that I didn’t see coming at all that I really enjoyed! I’m actually really excited for how this is all going to play out because I haven’t read a good shifter romance in over a year now.

Would I recommend this? Absofuckinglutely! And if you read it, I wanna know all of your thoughts!
