The Orphanage By The Lake by Daniel G. Miller
3.0

Actual rating: 3,5 stars

If there’s one thing this book doesn’t lack, it’s intrigue. I couldn’t put it down and found myself reaching for it every time I had two minutes to spare. Several twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat throughout this story, but the big reveal, unfortunately, was very predictable.

Following this, I was not a fan of the main character, Hazel. Victim of several clichés that left her blind to the clues in her path, I was also not a fan of the way she investigated this mystery. It was messy and lacked any real investigation. Despite its predictability, The Orphanage by the Lake was a good page-turner and an enjoyable read.
