This is How You Lose the Time War by Max Gladstone, Amal El-Mohtar
2.0
Actual Rating 2.5 / 3. Maybe?
Let's get the obvious thing out of the way. This novella was beautifully written. Period. Now that, that’s out of the way, here’s my reading experience.
I moved effortlessly in this novella from shades of Blue to Red. Blue”s POV left me Blue. I was bored and detached from anything that she wrote and said. My boredom made me feel like I was spiralling into a black hole.
Then I’d be raging RED WHEN RED wrote. The plot felt pointless and useless to me. I didn’t care for it or felt anything other that the flickering lights of Blue and Red before I passed out when I finally reached the novella’s end.
