At time Tommy and Tuppence can be very irritating but on the whole I ended up liking them a lot more than I thought I would. For an Agatha Christie there were a lot of implausible situations and actions which was a little annoying, too many improbable guesses that were used to move the story along. The history of the times was interesting but you can see Christie didn't approve of certain political parties or the reasons why the public might feel the need to take certain actions, she also has an interesting take on what being poor really is. Still, fairly enjoyable if you can get past the many failings this book has.
