Let me start by saying I love Jay’s books. I’ve been a fan since the beginning. I love her writing style and I love the Marked Men series. I was so excited for a second generation, and it was so fun seeing all the kids and the OG’s as parents.
However, this book fell a tad short for me. Let me be clear. I love Ry & Bowe and their love story, but I finished the book wanting more…of what I can’t say just more. Honestly I feel like this book is similar to the songs Bowe wrote for the band; it’s good. People will enjoy it. It was well written, but it didn’t have that extra umph that I’ve grown accustomed to her other books having. I’m I hopeful though that there’s more to come and that “something”that Jay has for her writing and characters shine through because I love her writing, the characters, and the world she’s built.
