I must first note that I received this book via the goodreads giveaway. With that being said, I must say that I enjoyed the book. I was hesitant at first, because I assumed it was a Fifty Shades knock off. They are similar, but The Submissive holds its own (especially after finding out that this book was published before). Abby is the one who takes the initiative by applying to be Nathaniel's submissive, a rich CEO with a Julia Roberts Pretty Woman no kissing allowed rule. Alas, you hope that Nathaniel realizes his love for Abby when he breaks his own cardinal rule. Abby also has a BFF who is quite unlikable at first, but she grows on you during the course of the book, and her side romance is cute as well. I wanted to know more about Nathaniel's backstory, so it is reassuring to find that this book is a part of a trilogy, so hopefully I will get more answers. Overall, an enjoyable, well written, fast read. I'll be sure to check out the rest of the series when I have a chance.
