Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer

Skipped a Super Bowl party to finish reading this novel, incredible. I loved how deeply human this book was while maintaining the, often *seen* as sterile, scientific scope on the narrative. The isolation of each woman’s individual characteristics and zeroing in on their singular purpose, position, and viewpoint while on the mission was intriguing, as well as our protagonists discovery/unfolding of this kaleidoscopic terrain. I hope they don’t screw up this dystopian drama like they did the giver.
