The Girl Who Saved Christmas
by Matt Haig
I think this story had the same spirit as the first in that it shows a character trying to reconcile the wondrous Christmas season with life's harsh realities and sadness. Unfortunately, I felt that it was trying to tackle two disparate storylines that never really seemed to come together for me.
Overall, an enjoyable and clever holiday tale, but nowhere near the well-paced epic adventure of the first book. I'm glad I read it, but I would definitely recommend A Boy Called Christmas more!
