I really liked Clarke's style in this, and often found myself mentally transported to 1800s England. However, I found the first half of the book to be quite boring, but I persisted and came to enjoy the latter half. I liked the ending, although I feel like it was a bit....hmmm.....boring? I'm not sure. It all resolved nicely, considering Strange and Norrell's circumstance. I liked the characters, particularly Lascells, and I wished to see more depth in them (particularly Norrell, who was the caricature of a stuffy old Englishman). Would I read again? Maybe, if I were in the mood for something historic and slightly fantastic. Would I recommend? Yes, to those who enjoy dense English prose!
