Empire of Pain: The Secret History of the Sackler Dynasty by Patrick Radden Keefe
challenging
emotional
informative
medium-paced
5.0
Money is the root of all evil and I am shaking with rage.
But holy crap, Keefe knows how to write in a way that makes you LISTEN. I went into this thinking the book was going to more about the opioid epidemic itself, and was a bit disappointed to learn it was about the rise and fall of the Sackler family specifically. But by a few chapters I’m, I didn’t even care anymore. Amazing book!
