“Life was a wheel, and it always came back around.”

As stated in my review of The Shining, I highly recommend reading that book first. It gives great detail of the family history and habits of the Torrance men. The investment pays out as you follow Danny in Doctor Sleep, trying to rebuild his life after surviving The Overlook Hotel and its “residents.” This takes him back to New Hampshire where his father was raised and it brings him into the life of Abra Stone. He battles his demons and helps Abra battle her demons, Rose the Hat and the True Knot. It is an epic war that takes Danny Torrance full circle.

Abra and Rose the Hat were the fiercest characters and I would love more stories on them! Their cat and mouse game had me at the edge. Both so driven by love and revenge that they risk their lives and others’ to get at each other.
