I don't know why I was constantly surprised by how good these stories were because, OF COURSE, they're written by one of the most prolific authors of our time. but godDAMN he is one of the most prolific authors of our time!!!! and while not every story was phenomenal they were all incredibly engaging and full of twists and turns. 

my favorite was honestly probably Jerusalem's Lot

or the brutal last one that had zero spook and was just a devastating story about a son  assisting his dying mother with suicide
